Centennial Campus Foodservices
Project Description (Updated December 9, 2010)
Students on Centennial Campus will soon have more dining options than Port City Java and the Periodic Table C-Store. As plans for a housing project are already underway on Centennial Campus and demand for food service on campus is growing, University Dining will create two separate projects on Centennial Campus.
The first project, Innovation Cafe, is expected to be open and fully operational by March 2011. This temporary facility will be located beside the BTEC Building near Engineering II. It will be constructed from modular kitchen and dining room units assembled together to form a functioning kitchen, serving line and dining room. Pull data seating for 200 and outdoor deck. Plans call for Chick-fil-A to operate in half of the service area, while the other half would offer a rotating menu of freshly prepared hot and cold items. It is expected to operate for three years while a permanent food service facility is constructed.
The permanent foodservice facility will include 15,000 square feet to be located on the ground floor of Engineering I, on the Oval directly beside Engineering III. Retail facility with multiple menu choices, deli, salad, stir fry, grab and go, hot foods and talk about diner concept. $8.6 million project and may be operational by 2014.
MASH The Centennial Campus project will offer engineering and textile students a quality place to eat within walking distance of their classrooms. With corporate offices and government buildings occupying the campus too, the new dining location will be able to serve a variety of customers.
