July 15, 2010 (Raleigh, NC)— University Dining announces its annual Welcome Back, Pack! event, scheduled August 17, 2010 from 5–8 p.m. at Fountain Dining Hall and the West Campus Amphitheatre. The event draws thousands of students on the eve of the first day of classes for entertainment, food, prizes, and a chance to mingle with old friends and meet new ones. The event, which is part of the Wolfpack Welcome Week schedule of activities, is co-sponsored by University Dining and Coke Zero.
Motor Mouth Mike, a comedian who entertains the crowd with games and prizes, will return this year but will take center stage in the West Campus Amphitheatre with Rock and Roll/Alternative band, Junior, and singer/songwriter Lisa Pelleschi.
“We will also have some fun games and prizes as well as our traditional organization fair where students can learn more about how to get involved on campus,” said Jennifer Gilmore, marketing/communications manager for University Dining. “Of course, we’ll have a special meal in the dining hall, featuring chicken pablano, BBQ ribs, butterfly shrimp, artichoke white bean stew, mac and cheese, green beans, honey glazed carrots, baked beans, and dinner rolls. It’s going to be our best Welcome Back, Pack event to date.”
The event is free; students wishing to eat dinner can use a meal-plan meal or pay $7.75 cash/credit or $7.25 if they use their AllCampus debit account.
