April 20, 2009--University Dining, in a three-way partnership with the department of food science and D.H. Hill Library, has opened the Creamery ice cream shop in the west wing of the library. It is the second retail location University Dining has established within the library, joining the Hill of Beans coffee bar, located just inside the entrance.
The Creamery features hand-scooped ice cream, milkshakes and sundaes featuring Howling Cow dairy products, which are made from milk produced at NC State's research farms and processed at our campus creamery.
Specialty sundaes include the Chancellor's Choice and the Wolfpack Sundaes, both of which are built atop a mini chocolate Bundt cake. Milkshakes are made-to-order wiht three large scoops of ice cream (any flavor), heavy cream, and a dash of vanilla. The Creamery also offers a milk-and-cookie combo.
The shop is open weekdays during the summer from 11 a.m.-6 p.m., but will resume regular hours mid-August when students return to campus: Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-1 a.m.; Friday, 11 a.m.-8 p.m.; and Sunday, 4 p.m.-1 a.m. It accepts the Meal Plan (Board Bucks), AllCampus, and Credit Cards.
