Dining Dollars are flexible funds that augment the meals component of your plan. Consider it “bonus” equivalency.
Use Dining Dollars to:
- Buy extra meals or snacks if a meal has already been used during a meal period or if you run out of meal-plan meals.
- Cover the difference if you spend more than the equivalency at a campus restaurant.
- Make purchases at our C-Stores and vending machines.
- Buy a meal for a family member or friend when they come to visit.
Choose from 100, 200, or 300 Dining Dollars. You can elect to buy more later, but be aware that we will automatically enroll you for the same amount in the spring unless you alert us before January 31, 2014.
New for 2013-2014 is our Commuter/Apartment Plan, which is a Dining Dollars-only plan for students coming from off campus or living in Wolf Ridge or Wolf Village. The plan features $750 Dining Dollars per semester and features up to 10 percent in tax and discount savings at the register.
Dining Dollars roll over from year to year and are only refundable upon withdrawal or graduation from NC State. Purchases made with Dining Dollars are tax exempt at all locations except for C-Stores, saving you 7.75%.
Dining Dollars are required for all plans except the Commuter and Athletic Plans. 100 Dining Dollars per semester is often plenty, but consider 200 or 300 if flexibility is important, or if you plan to spend more money in C-Stores, vending machines and restaurants.
JANUARY 2013 NOTE: Several students have inquired if their spring semester Dining Dollars have been applied to their accounts as they are not showing up on the cash register screen in our dining locations.
The answer is yes!
Spring Dining Dollars are in a separate account from Fall Dining Dollars. Once you use your Fall Dining Dollars, your Spring balance will appear on the cash register screen. Click here if you want to log in and confirm your account balance.
