University Dining has a variety of meal-plan options to suit your needs and budget. Each plan is built around a set number of meals per week or semester that you can use in three ways:
- For dining hall meals
- Toward meals at campus quick-service restaurants through our equivalency program
- For dining hall take out, also through our equivalency program
All first-entry (ie. first time entering college) students in University Housing are required to sign up for a meal plan during their first two semesters, regardless of academic standing. Once you've signed up for a plan, you will be automatically enrolled in the same plan for the spring semester unless you contact us here or visit us in person at the University Dining office.

University Dining is proud to be a contributing partner in the university's overall goal to conserve energy, use resources wisely and reduce our carbon footprint. Some of our initiatives include:
Composting

Composting in our dining halls is assisting with the university's goal to increase the amount of waste diverted from the landfill to 65 percent by 2015.
Take Out Program

Our dining hall take-out program, Pack&Go, features a reusable, recyclable take-out container. It's economical and better for the environment.
Neomonde Baking Company

Our dining halls feature pita bread, dinner rolls and artisan sandwich bread from this Triangle-based bakery. Neomonde uses natural products with the highest quality ingredients.
Recycled Cooking Oil

Since 2008, 55,000 gallons of our cooking oil have been recycled into sustainable fuels. That's enough to run 10 Wolfline busses for 10 years!
Howling Cow Dairy Products

Using fresh milk from the local NC State farms, the on-campus dairy plant processes and delivers milk products (and ice cream!) to University Dining locations.
My Roots are at NC State

This program connects University Dining with North Carolina growers, manufacturers, processors and producers to increase our ability to purchase locally.
